Our Startup Story

In January of 2009, Co-Founder Michael Sitarzewski presented the first vision of what would become Callisto.fm. From that presentation came a developer, Richard Jones. From that developer came a designer, Travis Silverman. We were off to the races and taking in content within two months.

While acquiring the assets of PodcastReady, Inc. (a Houston based podcast portal) in 2011, we began a great relationship with DFJ Mercury. In December of 2011, DFJ Mercury led our seed round, followed by Tim Draper, John South, and a few other fantastic angel investors.

Today, the Callisto.fm team is in San Antonio, Texas, participating in the TechStars Cloud program. We’re nurturing some magnificent partnerships with SoftLayer, Microsoft, Rackspace Cloud, and many more.
